WHAT IS AlaskaWILD?
AlaskaWILD is an annual juried photo exhibit sponsored by the Alaska Society of Outdoor and Nature Photographers (ASONP) featuring the natural beauty of Alaska and its wilderness.
The main goals of alaskaWILD are to celebrate the unique beauty and wildness of Alaska, and to promote amateur and professional photographers.
Since in 1987, ASONP has accepted images from all over the state of Alaska for judging in multiple categories: Black and White, Creative, Fauna, Flora, and Landscape. Each year, a panel of judges selects 30 -35 images for inclusion in the exhibition.
The year-long exhibition travels to various locations across Alaska for display. The exhibit is on display approximately one to two months at a venue. As the show travels, people viewing the exhibit have the opportunity to vote for their favorite image. The image that receives the most votes at the end of the year receives the “People’s Choice Award.” Along with the traveling print show, all selected images are promoted selected images, judges award prizes for Best of Show, Best of Category and Honorable Mentions.
People may also purchase the alaskaWILD photo book, a high quality bound book containing all selected images.
ASONP enjoys working closely with our alaskaWILD exhibit venues and we are happy to discuss the details of print sales, commission rates, and logistics in order to develop a plan that works best for both parties.
