A moving story along with a serious musical component has touched us deeply here at Williwaw Social. While it is hard to encapsulate it in a few words, we will try. Bernie Dalton was a strong, physically fit, and very active 47 year old. He was down to earth, kind hearted, devoted single father to a beautiful 16 year old daughter named Nicole. He had always had a passion for music and writing songs.

He reached out to singer/songwriter and music/voice teacher Essence Goldman with a inspiration and passion to bring his musical vision to life. Shortly after they started, his voice suddenly disappeared. The long story/short led to an ALS diagnosis-the most aggressive kind.

While Essence/friends/family wanted to send him on a father/daughter trip of a lifetime, Bernie had another dream, to make a record of his songs with his daughters participation. While Essence brought in some fellow professional musicians to help, she, along with Bernie started the project, Bernie soon deteriorated to the point where he could only communicate with his eyes using 'Eye Gaze Device', similar to the one Steven Hawking used.

The album is now finished and was debuted by Bernie and The Believers (The band Essence formed for the project) at Slim's in S.F. last year.

In partnership with Joe Rizzo, the Triumvirate Theatre in Nikiski and a Harper Grant we are proudly bringing Bernie and The Believers to Anchorage as part of the fundraising project for Bernie and Nicole.

Music will start around 8pm. Tix are $10 adv, $12 door, additional donations encouraged and will be taken at the door.
